Why I Love this Shirt!

BuyBlackCannabis was an idea I wanted to develop for a while because of all of the economic injustice I saw in the field.  Is that wrong?  You decide.

Watching as the Cannabiz started to flourish?  I got this same familiar feeling of being left outside at a party.  And all of the Social Justice initiatives that were going on simultaneously brought it out to the forefront.  Once again.  A black person would come up with the filament for the light bulb(Lewis Lattimer).  While the white guy (Thomas Edison) would get the patent and the profits!  Watch a documentary on HBO yesterday that mentioned how Edison delayed his investors until he “fixed” the problem.  If you didn’t know?  Lewis Lattimer was that fix.  So who REALLY invented the lightbulb?  The pattern repeats. 

Rappers getting in the game didn’t help this either.  Due to my own personal experience knowing that a lot of these guys?  Are now just caramel coated due to their exposure to Capitalism.  Which I am all for theoretically.  Unfortunately. theory is the only place in the world pure Capitalism exists.  Outside the hood.  The irony that the guy selling Dubs was more of a pure Capitalist than these Corporate slugs invading the arena did not escape me.  Their deep pockets and advertising advantages are a chasm too deep to fill with gummies.  Or is it?  

So I paid to get a design logo that spoke to my indifference to the task of unwinnable odds.  Printed it up.  And wore it to my local store on LI.  The 1st guy, a white one.  Nodded and gave me a that’s whats up!  Obviously, a head!  My people.  My other tribe.  And then there was everyone else.

Is it racist?  Sexual or sexual to have a logo whose letters are BBC?  Provacative to have women holding a lit cigar filled with who knows what?  Yes.  Yes.  And hopefully again, yes!  So as I walk by people in these times of racial animosity.  I get the feeling some would like to rip it off my back!  While others?  Want to rip it off my back!  Insert laugh.

Heads know there is no such thing as “Black” cannabis.  There is just this great plant that can be broken down to medicinal as well as frivolous pursuits!  And hemp?  Hemp is a wonder plant that was banned due to its many practical uses including paper and buildings.  The list for the practical applications of hemp are endless!  But the finance is not going to trickle down.  We are going to have to carve that out for ourselves.

BuyBlackCannabis is my thought to get it together.  Not the solution.  But A solution for individuals looking to sell their products without big bucks behind them!  Remember.
